Obituary

Paul B. Mullin, 61, of Rockland Massachusetts passed away suddenly on July 3, 2019. He was born on January 1, 1958, to the late Kevin Mullin and Frances (Marvin) Mullin.

Growing up, Paul was a standout soccer player, co-captaining the first ever Rockland High School soccer team and continued coaching sports over the years. He was a force to be reckoned with as a hockey goalie, playing for the dynasty “Budweisers” and other names not fit for print. He had a passion for his family, fishing, camping, and the paranormal. Fittingly, Paul’s favorite holiday was Halloween and he would spend the month of October proudly decorating the lawn to the point that no green could be seen. Paul created detailed costumes to scare those around him, one example of his own original brand of humor.

Paul graduated Rockland High School and studied at Babson College. He worked for the Stop & Shop Corporation for over 40 years in multiple capacities. Most recently Paul worked as Lead Maintenance Supervisor in Freetown. Outside the job, Paul loved working on many projects with his ever-growing collection of tools. He was an avid Bruins and Patriots fan, reserving Sundays to watch Pats games with his children, making a pastime out of rooting against them just to keep things interesting.

Paul leaves behind his longtime partner, Susan Richardson of Rockland. He was the proud “Bampa” to Ava, J.J. and Gracie, who will miss him dearly. He leaves behind three children, Timothy Mullin of Norfolk, Virginia, William Mullin and his wife Sara of Whitman, and Sherri Malley and her husband Sean of Pembroke, his beloved dog Ebby, and 47 fish who reside at the Koi pond Paul meticulously crafted and maintained.

Paul was predeceased by his sister, Angela of Rockland. He also leaves behind his siblings, Michael Hutson and wife Judy of New Jersey, Janet Bemis and husband Clay of Virginia, Mark Hutson of Bellingham, Elizabeth Slobodkin and husband Harvey of Easton, Penny Richardi and husband Domenic of New Hampshire, Amy Badger and husband Michael of Brockton, and Kerri Smith and husband Derek of Rockland. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Paul will be missed fiercely to those who loved him and will forever be an irreplaceable soul. He always said when he is gone; he will still be visiting from the other side.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend services at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman on Sunday July 7th. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. At the close of services, you are welcome to share any memories or thoughts.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Paul’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or becoming an organ donor like Paul, as he was an advocate and contributed to those in need at his passing
