Gilda (Di Pietro) Di Rienzo, of Medford, passed away on Wednesday, July 3rd. She was 89. Born and raised in Pettorano, sul Gizio, Italy. She was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Maria (Franciosa) Di Pietro.
Gilda loved to spend time with her family. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gilda’s family were her pride and joy, they were her world. She enjoyed cooking for her family everything was made from scratch and was known to be delicious, some of her most requested dishes were lasagna, Italian wedding soup and pizza.
When Gilda was not spending time with her family you could find her in her garden. She had a natural green thumb all of her flowers and veggies were constantly blooming and growing. Gilda was a dedicated wife, a great mother, loving nonna, great-nonna and friend. She will be greatly missed by all.
Guilda was the beloved wife of the late Raffaele Di Rienzo. She was the devoted mother of Mario Di Rienzo and his wife Hind, and Rina Zagame and her husband Richard. She was the loving nonna of Paul, Gianfranco, Anthony, Kristina, Gianna, Jasmine, Reda and Selina, and loving great-nonna of Gianluca and Isabella. She was the dear sister of Raffaele Di Petro and Anna Canzurlo. She was the former mother in-law of Paula Maria Di Rienzo. She is also survived by many loving family members and friends.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Monday, July 8th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4 to 8 pm. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
