Nola M. (Cagley) Amos, 92, of Anderson died July 2, 2019, at Bethany Pointe Health Campus after a two year battle with cancer.
She was born June 20, 1927 in Miami County, Indiana, the daughter of Theo Cagley and Minnie Cagley Draper. She was a graduate of Clay Township Miami County High School and later Indiana University with a degree in social work. Work brought her to Anderson, where she was a Y-Teens director for the Anderson Y.W.C.A. She married Charles W. Amos and enjoyed 55 wonderful years prior to his passing in 2005.
Later, Nola was a substitute teacher and homemaker. Activities during family days included outdoor adventures, Boy Scouts and numerous family camping vacations throughout the U.S. Nola and Charles traveled to several foreign countries. She was a member and officer of the local garden club; a lifelong active member of the First United Methodist Church including serving on committees and being a Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by her son, Ken Amos and Pamela Runyan of Terre Haute; two sisters, Mary Siktberg and Phyllis Almashi; three grandchildren, Colleen Amos, Andrea (Johnathan) Hammett and Patrick Amos; four grandchildren, Brennen Amos, Maddox Hammett, Kensley Hammett and Charlie Amos; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Nola was also preceded by her parents; two siblings, Jean Woolley and Richard Cagley and her son, Robert Charles Amos.
Services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Don Deena Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 5, 2019 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service and one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to First United Methodist Church, American Cancer Society, Youth Serving Christ or Boy Scouts of America.
