Maureen C. (Caples) DeRosa, a 5 year resident of Brockton and a former resident of Charlestown, East Falmouth, South Yarmouth and Allston, entered into eternal life on Monday, July 1, 2019 at The Colonial Nursing Home in Weymouth. She was 79 years of age.
Maureen was born in Boston on September 15, 1939, a daughter of the late James D. Caples and Mary E. (Codair) Caples. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated throughout the Boston Public School system. Maureen worked for several years at local banks in the area as a Clerk. She was a homemaker most of her adult life, caring for her family and appreciating all the special moments she was able to share with them.
Maureen is the beloved wife of the late George F. DeRosa. She is the devoted mother of James DeRosa and his wife Joan, Mary Ferranti and her husband Joseph, Thomas DeRosa and his wife Nancy, Kevin DeRosa and his wife Christine, Maureen "Reanie" DeRosa and her husband Neil Quinton and the late Ralph DeRosa and George F. DeRosa Jr. and his surviving wife Laura. She is the loving Nana to Patricia, Christina, Anthony, Michaela, Katie, Kelli-Ann, Alyson, Colleen, Sarah, Phoebe, James, Elizabeth, Thomas and her 18 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Edwardine Henderson and the late MaryJane Boucher, Sheila Tucker, Margaret "Peggy" Porcello, James "Sonny" Caples, Michael Caples and Thomas Caples. She is the beloved sister-in-law of Jean (Caples) Bemis. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Maureen's Funeral on Monday, July 8, 2019 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Her visiting hours will be on Sunday, July 7, 2019 from 2 to 6 P.M. in the funeral home.
