
Dolores R. (Parilla) Caruso, lifelong resident of Medford, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 1st. She was 85. Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Quinto "Lucky" and Rose (Salamone) Zappelli.
Dolores was an amazing cook and would cook for her family every Sunday. Her dishes were made from scratch and were known to be delicious especially her sauce and meatballs. She enjoyed playing bingo and listening to Elvis music.
Dolores' biggest passion was her family. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dolores family were her pride and joy, they were her world. She was a devoted wife, a dedicated mother, loving nana, great-nana and friend. She will be greatly missed.
Dolores was the beloved wife of the late William P. Caruso. She was the devoted mother of Rosemarie Smithers and her late husband Mark, Lawrence Caruso, Laura Accaputo and her husband John, and the late Alfred Caruso. She was the loving Nana of Sheila, Jennifer, Cortney, Andrea, Billy, Jada, Larissa and Meadow, and the great-nana of Haley, Giana and Daphne. She was the dear sister of Joseph Parilla, James Parilla and Maryann Goroshko, as well as her furry companion and trusted sidekick Mila.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Saturday, July 6th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Saint Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday from 4 to 7 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden
