Obituary

Andrew J. "Andy" Mindyas, Sr., “Twin Cam”, 63, of Bristol, R.I. died Saturday, June 22, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford after a fatal motorcycle accident.

Born in Bristol, the son of the late Francis "Chick” Mindyas and the late Hilda (Travers) Mindyas, he lived in several places during his life including Bristol R.I., Columbia TN, Navarre FL, Coventry R.I. and Westport MA.

A motorcyclist at heart, he rode whenever and wherever he could. His bike was another connection to his soul. When he rode, he became one with the road and left all his worries behind. He became a free spirit.

Mr. Mindyas was employed in several areas. He was a veteran diver for the Army. He worked at T.P.I. Composites in Warren R.I. and at Ocean State Harley Davidson in Warwick, R.I., as well as a few others during his journey in life.

He is survived by his children, Heather James and AJ Mindyas, as well as his sister Janice Frizzell and her family.

Andy wished to be cremated and have his ashes spread near the Mt. Hope Bridge. He did not want to be a part of the sad times in life. He wanted to celebrate life. As a result, per his request, no services will be held. Arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
