Nancy (Rocha) Capello, 83, of New Bedford passed away peacefully at home on Friday June 28, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Arnold Leon Capello.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Antone Rocha and Beatrice (Rezendes) Medeiros, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was a member of the International Church of the Nazarene. She was a server of the Lord and she loved to sing.
Nancy was formerly employed as a teacher's assistant at the United Front Day Care.
She is survived by six children, Debra Watkins, Susan Normandin, Gail Normandin, Ann Marie Monteiro, Robert Normandin, and Raymond Normandin; three stepchildren, Doreen DeCosta, Rhonda Capello, and Kerry Capello; her siblings, Connie Megge, Toni Jo Danner, Gina Carden, John Medeiros, Carl Medeiros, Dino Medeiros, and John Rocha; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.
She was the grandmother of the late Raymond Normandin, Jr. and Ashley Silva, and great-grandmother of the late David Lyle.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday July 13, 2019 at 11 AM at the International Church of the Nazarene, 284 Pleasant St., New Bedford. Visiting hours are omitted.
