Obituary

CHICOPEE ~ Loretta R. (Belgarde) St. Marie, 89, a longtime resident of the Sandy Hill section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, June 25, 2019. She passed into Eternal Life at Wingate at South Hadley surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Johnson, Vermont on May 25, 1930, a beloved daughter of the late Joseph Willie Belgarde and Emiliene (Duquette) Belgarde and lived in Chicopee most of her life. She was last employed at the former Super Brush Company and previously worked at F.W. Sickles, both in Chicopee. During her leisure time, Loretta enjoyed bowling and attending bingo games where she met many of her friends. After her children were raised, she enjoyed eating out and always said, “my kitchen is now closed.” Above all, she loved her family and many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of over 70 years, Armand L. St. Marie who was Called Home on August 8, 2018. She leaves her two loving children, Linda J. Bienvenue and her husband, Philip, of Pittsboro, NC and Brian W. St. Marie and his wife, Andrea, of Lexington Park, MD; her four cherished grandchildren, Alisha Bienvenue and her partner, Jason Banville, Kiera Gilbert and her husband, David, Sabrina Jackson and her husband, Mark, and Tara Hanneman and her husband, Chris; her six cherished great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Eve Gilbert, Isabelle and Killian Jackson and Chloe and Sadie Hanneman; her dear sister, Rollande Cates of Santa Rosa, CA; her dear brother-in-law, Chauncey Bryant of Chicopee; her dear sister-in-law, Lucille St. Marie of Holyoke; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the St. Marie and Belgarde families. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her loving son, Kenneth L. St. Marie; her brother, Floyd Belgarde; her two dear sisters Georgette Bryant and Gabrielle Ferrari and her husband, Salvatore; her dear brother-in-law, Leonard “Red” St. Marie; and her dear sister-in-law, Irene Garfield. Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9:30 a.m.), followed by a 10:30 a.m. Prayer Service at the funeral home. Her Burial will follow the Prayer Service at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, July 19, 2019 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
