Jeannette Brinson Johnson, 78, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at Regency Hospital in Macon. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Johnson at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2019, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Joseph L. Crumley will officiate. The family will receive friends at Oak Ridge Cemetery immediately following the service.
Born September 6, 1940 in Tifton, Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of the late Felton H. Brinson, Sr. and Ella Mae Harvey Brinson. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Felton H. “Jabo” Brinson, Jr. and William A. “Billy” Brinson; and one sister, Ruby M. Lindsey. Before retiring, she was a nurse at Tift General Hospital, now Tift Regional Medical Center, and worked in labor and delivery on the OB floor for over 40 years. She loved going to Georgia Tech football games; loved to sew; loved to cook; loved flower arranging; and loved to shop. She was of the Presbyterian faith.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband, Joseph “Joe” F. Johnson of Tifton; one son, Joey Johnson and his significant other, Pooja Patel of Tifton; two daughters, Venisha Johnson Buckley and Kimberly Johnson, both of Tifton; five grandchildren and their spouses, Rob and Danielle Buckley, Ross Buckley, Ryan Buckley, Justin Sheppard and his significant other, Heather Baker and Heather and Lon Barfield, all of Tifton; and three great-grandchildren, Buck Buckley, Brayden Barfield and Landon Sheppard.
