Obituary

Moses J. DePina, 64, of New Bedford died Tuesday, June 25, 2019 unexpectedly at Charlton Memorial Hospital.

Born in Wareham, son of the late Anthony John DePina, Sr. and Louise (Silva) Oliveira, he had lived in New Bedford for most of his life.

Moses served in the United State Air Force.

He was currently employed as a residential instructor at Better Community Living, Inc. and was formerly employed as a chef at Freestones City Grill for many years.

Moses enjoyed watching sports, especially the Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots, and loved to cook on the grill and spend time with his family.

He is survived by two children, Nakia DePina and Moses DePina, Jr.; six sisters, Antoinette DePina, Dianna Weathers, Anna Mae DePina Rudolph, Marion DePina, Rosemarie “Rose” Gomes, and Constance Oliveira; two brothers, Anthony DePina, Jr. and Raymond Oliveira; his former wife, Roberta DePina; and many step-siblings, nieces, nephews and other extended family.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Frank Joseph DePina and Robert DePina, and his step-father, Reinaldo Oliveira.

His visiting hours will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2019 from 2-6 PM in the the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
