Obituary

Phyllis Louise Schmidt, 95, was granted her angel wings on June 20, 2019 at the Wingate at Weston Nursing Facility in Weston, MA where she passed peacefully with family by her side.

She was born on July 4, 1923 to the late Jennie (Brogna) Foti and the late Stephen (Ned) Foti and spent most of her growing up years in Medford where she graduated from Medford High School with Honors and earned the distinction of being voted Class Historian of her graduating class. She attended and graduated Fisher College in Boston where she prepared for challenging positions throughout her life at Tufts College, Medford City Hall and as a private secretary in a prestigious law firm. She met every challenge with vigor and was a perfectionist in every task she was assigned. However, the happiest years in her life were the ones spent raising her family and keeping a beautiful home where the door was always open to welcome extended family and her many friends. She will be remembered for her generosity of heart and her gracious hospitality.

She would have celebrated her 96th Birthday on July 4th and no one loved a party more than Phyllis did. Her family is comforted to know that this years’ Birthday will be celebrated in heaven where she will enjoy the many gifts of eternal love, peace and rest.

She is survived by her three children: Genevieve Glenna Buzzotta and her husband Tony, Paul Stephen Schmidt and Susan Phyllis Clark; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn Wayne Schmidt who is finally united with his bride of sixty-eight years.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to visit on Thursday, June 27th from 10 AM – 11 AM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, with a procession to Saint Joseph Church, 118 High St. Medford for a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Phyllis' name to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517 or to Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care @ www.seasonsfoundation.org.
