CHICOPEE ~ MaryBeth (Girard) Caouette, 53, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, June 23, 2019. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on November 20, 1965, a beloved daughter of Mary L. (Poole) Girard of East Longmeadow and the late Richard G. Girard who was Called Home on July 17, 1992. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from the former Cathedral High School in Springfield in 1984 and had lived in Springfield for many years before moving to Westfield in 1993. She later moved to Chicopee in 2000 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was employed as a nurse’s aide for the Loving Care Agency, which later became Epic Health Service, in Springfield. During her leisure time, she enjoyed word search puzzles and spending time with family and friends. Above all, “When life gave her lemons, she made lemonade”. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her loving brother, Daniel J. Girard who was Called Home on March 17, 1983. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Michael W. Caouette. They were married on October 2, 1993 at the former Saint Mary Church in Springfield and were blessed with over 25 years of happiness together. In addition to her mother and husband, she leaves her loving step-daughter, Tamara Colon and her husband, Jose, of Agawam; her four cherished step-grandchildren, John, Ryland, Aiden and Liam; her loving brother, Joseph R. Girard and his husband, Brian Tasso, of Salem, NH; her two dear nephews, Robert Girard and Andrew Girard and his partner, Kate; her dear grand nephew, Liam Girard; her cherished sister who lovingly donated MaryBeth her kidney named “Miss Butterfly”, Brenda C. McMahon and her husband, William, of East Longmeadow; her two dear nieces, Alexandria and Madison McMahon; her loving father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Maureen Caouette of Hudson, FL; and her many dear uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and extended members of the Caouette, Girard and Poole families. Her family will receive friends on Sunday, June 30, 2019 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. with a 4 p.m. Celebration of Life Service at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (413-737-1177). In lieu of flowers, her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children Springfield Unit, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
