Grace (Buchanan) Simmons 90, formerly a long time resident of Whitman, died Monday June 17 after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of the late Elmer Simmons.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Wilma Buchanan.
Grace had been a resident of Whitman for over fifty years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Whitman.
She enjoyed gardening and bowling.
She is survived by her children, Jason Simmons of Taunton and Paula Smith of Florida and her sister Gertrude Chapin of Michigan. She is also survived by her grandchildren Danny Langley and Denise Smith as well as four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Lynne Langley.
Family and friends are invited to attend her graveside service on Friday June 28 at 2:00PM in the Colebrook Cemetery, Essex Street, Whitman. By Request of the family all other services are omitted.
