HALIFAX - Francis R. McFadden, 65, of Halifax, formerly of Bridgewater, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006, at home after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Maureen (Casey) McFadden.
Born March 1, 1940, in Bridgewater, he was the son of the late Arthur and Helen (Bassett) McFadden.
Raised and educated in Bridgewater, Mr. McFadden resided in Bridgewater for 32 years, before moving to Halifax, where he had lived for 33 years.
Mr. McFadden served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Alaska.
He was a credit analyst for Thompson Financial in Boston and was an avid runner.
Mr. McFadden enjoyed reading, especially civil war books; and he enjoyed photography, including landscape scenes of Cape Cod and light houses.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Heather McFadden-Perna and her husband Armando Perna of Stoneham and Shaun McFadden of Waltham; his sister and brother, Beverly McFadden of Malden and Richard McFadden of Brockton; his nieces and nephews, Erin Maki, Christopher Maki, Lauren Maurer and Brendan Maurer.
His funeral service will be held in the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, Friday at a time to be announced. Visiting hours are Thursday 5-9 pm. Burial will be in Central Cemetery, Halifax.
