His Parents are (Late) George Walsh & his loving wife of 62 years (Late) Jean (Guthrie) They resided in South Boston for many years.

Gary was a proud resident most of his life in Southie, his roots, his life all began there. He never forgot the roots that meant so much to him. He has spent the past 30 years in Malden where he remained until his passing, but his heart always belonged to his Irish heritage and Southie where he still has many friends and family. He spent many years following in the footsteps of his father George and his brothers Michael, Jay, Billy, & Dennis and several nephews as a Fisherman out of the South Boston Pier. Fishing was and still is a proud tradition of the Walsh family.

Once moving to Malden he went on to try many things, however falling into another family tradition as a Tow Truck Driver. He was devoted to towing and worked more than anyone can imagine, it wasn't just a job for Gary it was a passion. He has spent the first few years working with his brothers Michael, Billy & Dennis with Walsh’s Tow and last ten years working for the Spadafora Family Tow Service, doing police tows. If you know Gary you know the comedy behind that. He loved his cooking shows, and would often have you try his "creations." He loved music and he could frequently be found at one of his favorite band concerts.

The saying "what you see is what you get" truly describes Gary. He wasn't much for being emotional or showing his affection but he talked endlessly about the love of his family and his life. If he was your friend you were a friend for life. Gary will be missed, from his strongly opinionated views to his fun loving way down memory lane side. If you wanted to remember something that happened 30 plus years ago you could hear it colorfully from Gary’s stories. Our hearts break knowing you are gone, but greatly comforted knowing that your parents George & Jean, brothers Kevin, Daniel & Jay and your loving son Mark and nephew Kevin Ryan and friends family we have lost before you are going to welcome you with open arms through the Golden Gates of Heaven and we all know we will see you all again someday. Until Then we will always here your voice through the music you loved and we will always pray for the safety of your fellow tow truck drivers. With love the Walsh Family.

Friends and family are invited to attend a wake from 4-8 PM at the Casper Funeral Home on Friday, June 21, 2019. Interment services will be private.
