Thomas C. Hunt, age 64, a longtime resident of Lynn, died unexpectedly on June 14, 2019. He was the beloved husband of 40 years to Aideen G. (Guthrie) Hunt.
Born in Boston, Tom was raised in Dorchester, which he fondly referred to as "God's Country." He attended St. Mark's School, B.C High and Boston State.
After college, Tom went to work as a semiconductor engineer for Axcelis Technologies in Beverly, where he remained for over 35years.
Tom always had a love for the beach. As a young adult he spent his summers on the Cape, this love continued as an adult where he spent his summers at Hampton Beach, NH with his family and closest friends. In Hampton he was affectionately known as “the Mayor” with his ever-present smile on the porch, kind words and friendly ways. He was a constant fixture for all the vacationers coming and going.
In Tom's spare time, he enjoyed following Boston sports, especially the Patriots. He loved dancing, singing, and spending time with his family. Tom was especially fond of a good wedding where he could always be found on the dance floor.
In addition to his wife, Aideen, Tom leaves behind his children: Thomas Hunt, Jr. of Woburn, Brenna and Julianne Hunt, both of Lynn. He was also the dear brother of John Hunt and his wife Lillian of Somerville. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather at Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Wednesday, June 19th from 4-8 PM, and again on Thursday at 9AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Eulalia Church, 50 Ridge St., Winchester at 10AM. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
