Barbara P. (Kluse) Kucich 72, of Franklin, died peacefully at her home with family by her side on Thursday June 6, 2019. She was the beloved wife of Anthony “Tony” Kucich, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage.
Born January 26, 1947 in Boston she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Sophie (Styzynski) Kluse. She was raised and educated in Dorchester and after she and Tony were married, they resided in Hyde Park before moving to Franklin in 1976.
Barbara received her bachelors degree in accounting from Bryant University while working full time and raising her sons. She worked as an accountant for many years. Supporting her community was important to Barbara and she worked at several non-profits, churches, and the Franklin senior center throughout her career.
Barbara's true passion was spending time with her family and many friends. In addition to being an outstanding cook, she enjoyed traveling, reading, playing board games and cards, and watching the New England Patriots.
Barbara is survived by Tony, her sons, John Kucich and his wife Cindy, Robert Kucich and his wife Jennifer, all of Franklin, and her brother John Kluse and his wife Victoria of Wilmington.
Barbara leaves five cherished grandchildren, Emma, Connor, Jack, Keira and Brooke Kucich. She could frequently be found on a field, track, basketball court, or in a music hall supporting them.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Celebration of Life Service Wednesday, June 12 at the First Universalist Society Church 262 Chestnut St. Franklin, MA 02038 at 3:00pm. A reception will follow at the 45 Restaurant, 45 Milford Street, Medway, MA 02053.
A private family interment will be held at a later date.
There are no calling hours.
