EAST BALDWIN- Alfred James Crawford, 85 died June 4, 2019 at his home. Unkie, as he was lovingly known within the family, was one of 9 children born to John and Maude Crawford. A hard worker all his life, he retired from Woods Mill. He, and his wife Roberta, enjoyed their large garden from the planning, and right through to the seed buying, planting, weeding and harvesting and ending with the canning and having full shelves for the winter. Showing his generous nature, Alfred also enjoyed sharing the produce with others. Once he was unable to work in the garden, he followed other pursuits…scratch tickets and eating out! Alfred was predeceased by his parents, 7 siblings and his wife. He’s survived by his sister, Helen Harrington of Bridgton and many nieces and nephews…who all claim him as their “favorite unkie”. A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2:00 p.m. at the West Baldwin Cemetery.
