BUXTON- Robert Everett Emery Sr., age 76, passed away on June 7, 2019 at Sedgewood Commons in Falmouth.
He was born in Portland, Maine on Feb. 22, 1943, a son of the late Everett and Virginia (Bell) Emery and attended Buxton schools.
He served in the USAF and went on to work throughout his life as a machinist. Over the years he worked at Saunders Brothers in Westbrook and National Wood in Oxford.
He was a longtime member of the Buxton Moonlighters Snowmobile Club and served as the organization’s trail master and was a member of the South Limington Baptist Church where he also served as a trustee
Robert will always be remembered for the enjoyment he had motorcycling, camping, snowmobiling, racing, telling stories amongst friends and family and helping family, friends and anyone that he felt might need a helping hand.
He was a lifelong Fryeburg Fair enthusiast. He worked at the Fryeburg Fair for 22 years, with his last year being 2013 because of medical conditions.
He is predeceased by siblings- Joan Weeman and Erland Emery.
He is survived by siblings- Rick Emery of Buxton and Alan Emery of Buxton
Robert is survived by his beloved wife- Edith (Hodgkins) Emery; children- Jeffrey Blanchette and his wife Becky of TN, Todd Blanchette and his wife Diane of Buxton, Donna Whitten and her husband Chris of Steep Falls, Robert Emery Jr. and his wife Vicki of Standish, and Stephen Emery and his wife Diedre of East Waterboro; grandchildren- Misty, Ryan, Cody, Lauren, Cassidy, Wade, Mackenzie, Wyatt, and Scott; and great grandchildren- Emily, Elliott, Kylie, and Caleb.
A memorial service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held on Thursday June 13, at 3 PM at the South Limington Baptist Church, located on the corner of Rts. 117 and Moody Road in Limington.
