Wanda Ann McDonald, 65, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, June 7, 2019, at Navicent Health in Macon.
Graveside services will be held 4 PM, Monday, June 10, 2019, at Spring Hill Cemetery in Irwin County, with the Rev. Steve O’Neal officiating.
Mrs. McDonald was born March 4, 1954, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Marion Mobley and the late Martha Nell Barfield Mobley Vassey. She formerly worked at Modern Fibers and Coachmen Industries. She was a wonderful homemaker and a loving wife and mother. She was happiest when there was a crowd in her home. Many young people have found love and comfort at “Mama Wanda’s”. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Michael McDonald of Fitzgerald; daughters: Alyssa Lee McDonald of Fitzgerald and Ashlee Ann Ray & Chris, Jr. of Fitzgerald; a brother: Ronnie Mobley & Rita of Carrollton; mother-in-law, Sue Lee McGee of Fitzgerald; sister-in-law, Leeann Walker & Emory of Tifton; and a brother-in-law, Andy McDonald of Fitzgerald. Several cousins, including Peggy Mobley Carver and Teresa Barfield Griffin, and many friends will greatly miss Wanda as well. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandmother, whom she loved dearly, Hattie Lee Barfield.
