CHICOPEE ~ Richard F. “Richie” O’Brien, Jr., 57, of Chicopee, was Called Home on Monday, June 3, 2019. He passed into Eternal Life surrounded by all the memories that he loved and cherished. He was born in Springfield on September 23, 1961, the beloved son of Richard F. O’Brien, Sr. and Marilyn F. (Sinell) O’Brien of Chicopee. He was raised in Springfield, graduated from Classical High School and had lived in Springfield most of his life before moving to Chicopee in 1991. He was employed as a van driver for Valet Park of America in Springfield and a bus driver for King Ward Coach Lines in Chicopee. He attended LifePoint Church in Chicopee. In addition to his beloved parents, he leaves his loving sister, Rosemary A. Gebo and her husband, Richard W. Gebo, Sr., of East Longmeadow; his loving brother, Patrick J. O’Brien of Chicopee; his cherished nephew and niece, Richard W. Gebo, Jr. and Christina M. Gebo, both of East Longmeadow; his two dear aunts, Carol L. Schwamberger of Rochester, MN and Joan O’Brien of Vermont; and his many dear cousins, friends and extended members of the O’Brien and Sinell families. His Funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 8:15 a.m.), followed by a Funeral Service at 10 a.m. at LifePoint Church, 603 New Ludlow Road, Chicopee, MA 01020. His Burial will follow the Funeral Service at Hillcrest Park Cemetery, 895 Parker Street, Springfield, MA 01129. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, June 10, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. For those who prefer, his family requests that memorial donations be made in his memory to LifePoint Church, 603 New Ludlow Road, Chicopee, MA 01020.
