FALL RIVER - John V. Oliver, 75, of 45 School St., Swansea, MA, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005 at St. Anne’s Hospital. He was the husband of Alice G. (Marchessault) Oliver. Besides his wife of Swansea, he is survived by: Two Sons: Robert R. Oliver of Hudson, N.H. and Paul J. Oliver of Taunton, MA, Two Brothers: David Oliveira of Florida and Thomas Oliveira of Las Vegas, Two Sisters: Margie McGill of Phoenix, Arizona and Anne Elizabeth Oliver of Iowa, and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Robert Oliveira and Jane Shaub.
Born in Fall River, the son of the late John V. Oliveira and the late Ethel (Fernandes) Oliveira. He was a Swansea resident for approximately 50 years. Prior to retiring, he was a Grocery Manager for Stop & Shop. After retiring, he worked as a Custodian for the Swansea Public School System. He also served in the National Guard for 19 years. He was a member of St. Michael Church, Ocean Grove, Swansea, MA.
His memorial mass will take place on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006 in St. Louis de France Church, Swansea, MA. at 9:00 A.M.
