Ramona Lynne Costa, “The Cake Lady” 61, of North Olney Street, Johnston, passed away May 31, 2019 surrounded by her beloved family at Hope Hospice and Palliative Care in Providence. She was the widow of Michael R. Costa.
Born in Kingsville, Texas, she was a daughter of Carolyn R. (Hughes) Bain of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Richard E. Cooke of Esmond, Rhode Island. She had most recently lived in Johnston for over 20 years and had previously lived in Smithfield, Rhode Island.
Lynne, known as the Cake Lady, was the owner of Lynne’s Cakes and Candies in North Providence.
She is survived by her children: Bruce A. Belleavoine of Greenville, Jennifer L. Belleavoine of Smithfield, Richard D. Tucker, Jr. of Cranston, Stephanie L. Tucker of Johnston, Michael F.J. Costa of Cranston, her three grandchildren: James, Matthew, and Isabella and her siblings: Donna L. LaPlante of North Providence, Bruce R. Bain of Providence and Richard E. Cooke, Jr. of Connecticut.
A visitation will be held Thursday from 5-7pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Funeral Friday at 10am with committal prayers to follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery Chapel, Cranston at 11am. In lieu of flowers donations and in her memory may be made to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, Rhode Island 02904.
