Obituary

MacDonald of Brockton January 7, 2006 Paul A. MacDonald 58 years. Beloved father of Nicole R. MacDonald and her fiancé Michael Mazyck of Berkley and Tina M. Buhl and her husband Paul of Marblehead. Son of Margaret I. (Bowles) MacDonald of Pembroke and the late Gaetano Sozio and Chester MacDonald. Brother of Donna Misiaszek, Deborah Hurcombe both of E. Bridgewater, Sydney Vitrwal and Chester MacDonald both of NYC, Noreen Long of Plymouth, Frank MacDonald of Chelsea and Christine MacDonald of Brockton. Grandfather of Darien M. MacDonald and Torin A. Buhl. Former husband of Roxann F. Villa MacDonald of Falmouth. Best firend of the late Junior Tavares. Also survived by many Nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street(Rte. 123) Brockton Friday at 11 am. Burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery Bourne at 12:45 pm.Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 pm.


Paul died unexpectedly Friday at his home. He was born in Boston Son of Margaret I. (Bowles) MacDonald of Pembroke and the late Gaetano Sozio and Chester MacDonald. Paul attended Abington schools where he was a star basketball player being highlighted in the local papers many times.
He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp in 1964 at the age of 19, serving during the Vietnam War; where he also continued his passion for basketball. While in the service Paul received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal before leaving active duty in 1968. Paul remained a reservist at the Weymouth Navel Air Station for many years following his active marine service and had been a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a Brockton resident for over 30 years. His work history included positions as warehouse manager for the former Mammoth Mart Store in Brockton, the Hit or Miss Company and most recently as a chef for Wheaton College retiring in 2002. Paul was known for his love for Horseshoes of which he played with the Abington VFW, Softball playing while working for the Hit or Miss Company, cards; but most of all he loved his grandchildren and fishing with his grandson.
