JoAnn Petroni passed away in the company of her loving family at the Winchester Hospital on Sunday morning. She was 75. Raised in Medford she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (DeRosa) Napolitano. JoAnn was a wonderful and kind person who loved to care for her family. Although she worked throughout her life, with the Internal Revenue Service in her younger years and later assisting in the operation of her family’s business, Gnomon Copy, she was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren whom she cherished. A resident of Winchester for the past 25 years, JoAnn enjoyed travelling with family and friends and being with the people she loved. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The beloved wife of James Petroni, she was a devoted mother to Gina Petroni Mahoney and her husband Thomas of Winchester, Maria Iannuzzi and her husband David of Belmont, and Deanna Mahoney and her husband Ed of Winchester. She was a loving and proud grandmother to Anabelle, Ryan, Tommy, Elizabeth, John and Thomas. JoAnn was also a dear sister to Eleanor Silverio of Methuen and Joseph Napolitano of Stoughton.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday, May 31 at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit at the funeral home on Thursday, 4 - 8 PM.
