Obituary

Salvatore J. “Sal” Puleo, 79 of Medford, died Saturday at home unexpectedly.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Carmella (Venezia) Puleo.

Mr. Puleo was a Baker at Tufts University in Medford for 14 years and retired in 1988.

Salvatore served in the U. S. Army from May 26,1944 to December 10, 1945. On November 28, 1944 he was wounded in action in Hurtgen, Germany and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He also was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, European, African, Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with Two Battle Stars, and the American Theatre Ribbon. Salvatore was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans MA Chapter 21.

Beloved husband of Elizabeth (Rossetti). Devoted father of Barbara Dalessio of Medford, and Salvatore J. Puleo Jr. of Bolton. Loving grandfather of Lorri and Sherri Dalessio, Luke and Mark Puleo. Brother of Gus Puleo of Attleboro, Tony Puleo of Somerville, Larry Puleo and Josephine Saccoco both of Medford, Betty Ryder of Arizona, and Lee Puleo of Boston.

A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, JULY 3, Wednesday at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Visiting hours Tuesday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
