Joyce Evelyn (Clark) Hartle, 91, died May 17, 2019 at Keystone Woods Assisted Living facility where she resided for four years.
Joyce was born January 14, 1928, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to John P. Clark and Mattie Velma Clark. She moved to the Anderson area when she was about 17 years old.
Joyce worked at General Motors, Delco Remy, as an auditor and receiving inspection for 45 years, retiring in 1998. She also owned and operated an RV business, Hartle Trailer Sales, with her husband from 1968-1980, located on State Road 9 north of Anderson. Joyce's hobbies included reading, ceramics, square dancing, caring for her children and grandchildren throughout the years. Joyce loved traveling to Mississippi with her closest friend, Ray Jordan, to visit family. She was an avid shopper. You could always find her in Mounds Mall shopping and on Sunday mornings, either Bob Evans or Cracker Barrell. She was affiliated with the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Joyce had wonderful caregivers, including Bonnie Daily, a family friend; Stephanie Beemer, her granddaughter; Chris King a grandson and Lora Mitchell and Misty Rambis.
Joyce is survived by four daughters, Shelia (Ray) Glover, Janet (Patrick) Ginley, Jennifer (Doug) Furnish and Teresa (Bill) Cole; stepsons, Rick Hartle; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters and her stepson, Mark and a great grandson, Jacob.
Services will be held Wednesday, May 22, at 2 p.m. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. Entombment will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer's Association.
