Richard W. Burlingame, 85, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester.
Richard was predeceased by his first wife of 49 years, Jeanne T. (Jarry) Burlingame that died September 22, 2007. His second wife Doris H. (Decelles) Burlingame died September 23, 2017.
He leaves a son, Steven J. Burlingame and his wife Dorothy of Charlton, 2 daughters; Kathleen M. Giangregorio and her husband John of Dennis,MA. and Anne M. Irish and her husband Raymond of Charlton,
2 step-sons; John Mandeville of Florida and Charles Mandeville of Charlton, a step-daughter, Susan Vail wife of the late Ken Vail, 8 grandchildren; Emily, Kimberly, Jonathan, Bethany, Kayleigh, Jessica, Adam and Cheryl, step-grandchildren; Samantha, Tamara, Timothy and Keith, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Brothers; Stanley K,, Raymond A., and Arnie R. Burlingame, 2 sisters; Thelma J. Jolin and Martha L. Morin.
He was born in Charlton, September 5, 1935, son of the late Sidney R. and Doris D, (McKissick) Burlingame and lived here all his life.
Richard worked for the former Charlton Woolen Mills for many years and then worked 15 years for the former Plante Heating Co. in his younger years was a volunteer fire fighter with the Charlton Fire Dept. and was a member of St. Joseph’s Church.
He was very mechanically inclined and a true outdoorsman.
When- ever he was asked what his age was, he always said jokingly, ‘23’.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, May 22, 2019, from 5-8pm at the ROBERT J. MILLER-CHARLTON FUNERAL HOME, 175 Old Worcester Rd.
A Funeral Mass will be Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 10 am at St. Joseph’s Church, 10 H-Putnam Rd., Ext. followed by burial in West Ridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to: the Mary Martha Guild.
