Dayle F. Simard, 81, of Albion died Friday May 17, 2019 at home surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late Gerard A. Simard. They were married in 1957 and shared almost 30 years together until his passing in 1986.
Born and raised in Warwick she was a daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Browning) Hasney. She was a resident of Albion since 1968.
Dayle was employed by the State of Rhode Island in her early years at the State Archives Office at the State House in Providence. She was with the Department of Motor Vehicles for over 30 years and was Chief of title Section until her retirement in 1999.
Dayle enjoyed the cultural scene in the Ocean State including attending the Wickford Art Festival and being a season ticket holder to Trinity Reperatory Theater.
Dayle will be remembered as a generous, friendly and outgoing person whom everybody loved. Her family was the center of her life and she loved and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a son Gerard A. “Gerry” Simard of Manville and his former wife and friend Wendy Kranseler of Sharon, MA and a daughter Judy D. Morel and her husband Denis of Manville. She was the sister of the late Leon Hasney and Eunice Brissette. She was the grandmother of Katie and Geri Morel and Alex Simard and great-grandmother of Levi and Briar. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.
Her funeral service will be Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 10:00-11:00 am prior to the service.
