Violet Rose (Peters) Averill, 58, of Gorham, NH, passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA after a struggle with heart disease. She was born in Berlin, NH the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary Jean (Whiting) Peters and was a lifelong resident of the area. Violet was self employed as a Caretaker for many years, was a bartender at the Gorham American Legion and previously was a detailer at the Currier Dealerships. She loved riding motorcycles, spending time with family especially her grandchildren and being in the outdoors.
Members of the family include her fiancé Doug Gleason of Gorham; children Dawn Averill of Berlin, Katie Guay and husband Jason of Paisley, FL, and Devin Averill of Altona, NY; grandchildren Mathieu, Kalob, Zack, Destiny, Noah, Harley and Chase; siblings Albert Riff and Dottie of Bloomfield, VT, Mary Riff of Berlin, Floyd Riff of Berlin, Phil Riff and Cindy of Lancaster, Linda Riff and Richard of Berlin, Clair & Billy DeMello of Bloomfield, VT, Jesse Peters and Roberta of Berlin and Chris Peters and Kathy of Berlin; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 1pm at the Mt. Hayes Cemetery, Promenade Street, Gorham. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in Violet’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association – New Hampshire, 2 Wall Street, Manchester, NH 03101. Arrangements are entrusted to the Bryant Funeral Homes, Berlin and Gorham, NH.
