Patsy Singletary Stringer, 74, of Irwinville, Georgia, died Friday, May 17, 2019, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Sunday, May 19, 2019, at Bethel Baptist Church, in Ocilla, Georgia, with the Rev. Tracy Clements and the Rev. David Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Irwinville Cemetery, in Irwin County. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Stringer was born October 1, 1944, in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late Jeff Lee Singletary & Ruby Jewell Bruce Singletary. She graduated from Irwin County High School in 1962. Mrs. Stringer worked for the Insurance Company of North America of Macon and returned home as owner and operator of Mother Goose Nursery. She was a group leader for the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home in Baxley. Mrs. Stringer was a homemaker and she loved to cook. She was a charter member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, played the organ and the piano. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all of her family.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Vernon Stringer of Irwinville; a son, Wesley Stringer & Nikki of Fortson; six grandchildren: Jacob Drawdy, Tyler & Shelby Stringer, Emily Stringer, Cade Vickers, Mason Vickers, Miller Vickers; one brother, Carroll Singletary of Irwinville, four sisters: Betty Jo Reeves of Vidalia, Doris O’Connor of Albany, Faye Sumner of Tifton and Ginger & Carlton Stringer of Irwinville; along with many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, W.L. (Buddy) Singletary.
