Louise Ann (Manning) Midwood, 87 of Somerset, passed away May 9, 2019. She was the wife of the late John (Jack) Midwood who passed in 2013. Born in Providence, RI she was a daughter of the late Earl Manning and Louise (Leacy) O’Rourke. Louise led a full life, worked at many jobs, lived in several states but her heart was being at home in Swansea. There she enjoyed her family, gardening, walking with her dogs by the pond and enjoying the shade under her catalpa tree. Mom liked to stay in shape. As sons we would either see or get reports that she was spotted at the mall walking with friends or on one of many 20 to 30 mile bike rides on her trusty 5 speed. We are sad that Mom won’t be here to enjoy the joys of life but are happy she is at peace and with those she has loved and of course all of her beloved dogs.
Louise is survived by her sons John and his wife Dara, Donald and his companion Anne Foster, Michael and his wife Deanne; her sister Adelaide and husband Norbert; her grandchildren: Sarah, Zachary, Mitchell and Allie; sister-in-law Joan and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Brian Midwood who passed as an infant and sister of the late Earl Manning. Services will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers a gift can be made in Louise’s name to the Town of Swansea Animal Shelter.
