FALL RIVER…Alvaro Silva, 71, of Fall River passed away May 11, 2019 at home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the husband of Isilda M. (Vidal) Silva to whom he had been married for 45 years.
Born in Salreu, Estarreija, Aveiro, Portugal, he was a son of the late Rosa da Silva and had lived in Fall River since 1988.
Mr. Silva was a communicant of Espirito Santo Church, Fall River and had worked as a Mason.
Along with his wife, survivors include his daughters: Isabel C. Brito of Fall River and Sandra C. Silva of Florida; his sons: Alvaro DaSilva and Brian Edgar DaSilva, both of Fall River; his sisters: Inocencia Pereira of Portugal, Margarida Almeida of Fall River, Helena da Silva of Portugal and Fatima da Silva of Portugal; his brother: Agusto da Silva of Portugal; his grandchildren: Abigail, Rehanna, Adrianna, Rui, Kyle, Angela and Sophia; several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Conceicao da Silva.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 8 AM from the South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River, MA 02723 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM at Espirito Santo Church, 311 Alden St. Fall River, MA 02723. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 5 - 8 PM.
