Throughout his time in Austin, John was active in many different charities and organizations. The United Way and Catholic Schools were important to him and he was involved in supporting these causes. John’s heart was in Northwest Wisconsin. In the late 60’s he put his roots down on lake property. From this point on, his family spent countless days and nights enjoying the cabin life. Fishing, berry picking, playing cards, bonfires and the inevitable skink hunts are many of the activities that John led. Up until his death, John and his longtime friends Douger, Clarkin and Maurice the Minister terrorized local fishing holes among other places. John was happiest while welcoming family and friends into the cabin for a fish fry or a glass of wine. Thank you for the countless memories. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday (5/14) 12:00 PM at CHURCH OF ST. PETER, 2600 N Margaret St., North St. Paul, with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. Special thank you to the HealthEast Hospice Team, Carla, Melissa, Bev and Jeanne, for their care. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Francis De Sales School, 409 N Summit St., Spooner, WI 54801 or the charity of your choice.
