Diane E. (McCambly) Howard, lifelong resident of Medford, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, Thursday, May 9th. She was 83. Born in Boston, and raised in Medford, she was the daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Collins) McCambly.
Diane was a dedicated employee of the Lawrence Memorial Hospital for 28 years. She absolutely loved her job and it showed by the many friendships she established. A woman of strong faith, and lifelong parishioner of the Saint Francis of Assisi Church, she served as a past president of the Mother's Club, and a member of the Board of Directors for the Metro Credit Union.
When Diane was not working or participating in church activities she loved to spend time with her family. She especially loved her husband, children and grandchildren. Diane's family was her pride and joy. Diane was a dedicated wife, a great mom, loving nana and friend. She will be greatly missed by all.
Diane was the beloved wife of the late Robert "Huzza" Howard. She was the devoted mother of Diane Howard, Debby Conway and her husband Danny, Bob Howard and his wife Dianne, John Howard and his wife Doreen, Michael Howard and his wife Elaine, Danny Howard and his wife Trisha, and Erin Simpson and her husband Steve. She was the loving nana of 15 grandchildren, and soon to be great-nana. She was the caring aunt of Jessica McCambly, and many other loving nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Tuesday, May 14th, at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 - 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
