Beatrice M. Goodrow, 98, lifelong Derry resident, passed away Wednesday May 8, 2019, in the Elliot Hospital, Manchester. She was born in Derry, on November 1, 1920, a daughter of the late Maglore and Mary Louise (Gallien) Blanchard. Beatrice worked for 35 years in the shoe industry at Klev-Bro Shoe and Chelmsford Shoe. She was a lifetime member of the VFW and the Derry Senior Center. She loved staying active, working out and swimming in the pool. She enjoyed playing cards on Wednesdays at the recreation center and going out to eat. Beatrice was an avid crafter, crocheting afghans and sweaters, making hook rugs and sewing Christening outfits. She also enjoyed reading magazines and watching TV, especially the Boston Red Sox.
She is survived by four children, Robert Goodrow of Wilburton, OK, twin sons, Donald Goodrow of New Boston, NH and Ronald Goodrow of Londonderry and Carol Charamut of Canton, CT, nine grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren, many great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 69 years, Norman E. Goodrow in 2008, her daughter, Norma Hansen and her three siblings, Robert J. Blanchard, Charlie Blanchard and Evelyn Roy.
A calling hour was held on Monday, May 13, 2019 from 10 - 11am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A service began at 11:00am. Burial followed in the Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry Road, East Derry, NH. Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Animal Rescue League, 4 SARL Drive, Salem, NH 03079.
