Carroll Webb, 82, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton. His funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Terrell Roberts and the Rev. Joseph Crews officiating. Mr. Webb will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Keith Harnage, Dana Harnage, David Fitzgerald, Bryan Wimberly, Brandon Rutland and Brad Billings will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Wimberly and Brendon Brouillette.
Born July 6, 1936 in Berrien County (Alapaha), Mr. Webb was the son of the late H. P. Webb and Minnie Lee Purvis Webb. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lillie “Evelyn” Purvis Webb; his siblings and their spouses, Elbert and Esther Webb, Lloyd Webb, Larry and Christine Webb and Thomas and Mary Webb; and a brother-in-law, James McMillan. Before retiring, he was a dairy worker with the University of Georgia Extension Service. He loved watching the Atlanta Braves and loved bowling.
Mr. Webb is survived by two daughters, Cindy E. Rutland of Omega and Jennifer C. Davis of Tifton; three grandchildren and their spouses, Kristy and Danny Lamb of Tifton and Brandon and Jodi Rutland and Dyanna Rutland, all of Lenox; two sisters and one brother-in-law, SaraNell and Curtis Harnage of Tifton and Velma McMillan of Dawsonville; and his sisters-in-law, Evelyn Webb of Douglasville and Carlene Dowdy and her husband, Willis Dowdy of Tifton.
