Marie (Elkins) Manchester, 87, of Little Compton, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Harold E. Manchester.
Mrs. Manchester was born in Little Rock, AR, daughter of the late Roy and Ola (Sledd) Elkins and had been a longtime resident of Little Compton. Prior to her retirement, she was the owner/operator of the former Lazy "M" Farms in Middletown for over 25 years. She was also a nanny for the Hurley Family of Little Compton.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to Ted Duffield for the many years of courteous and generous care he gave to the Manchester Family along with the staff at both Charlton Memorial Hospital and the Bristol V.N.A. for the care and support they showed her.
Survivors include her 2 daughters: Harriett Manchester of Little Compton and Juanita Dubuc and her husband Brian of S. Yarmouth, MA; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Glen Elkins, Travis Elkins and James Elkins.
Graveside service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, May 10, 2019 at Pleasant View Cemetery, Old Stone Church Rd., Tiverton, RI 02878 at 3:00 P.M.
