Sherman Laminack, 82, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Laminack was born October 13, 1936, in Cleburne County, Alabama, to the late E.J. & Nellie Mae Hart Laminack. He was a graduate of Irwin County High School. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. Mr. Laminack worked as an artillery maintenance technician at Warner Robins Air Force Base for 35 years. He loved to bird hunt and following his retirement, enjoyed coon hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his daughters: Libby Nelms of Fitzgerald and Jennifer & Marvin Palmer of Vidalia, and their mother, Betty Laminack of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Alex Nelms, Kiley Nelms, Nicole Palmer, and Rachel Palmer; and one sister, Jeanette Thompson of Fort Walton Beach, Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Hoyt Laminack and Dupree Laminack and three sisters, Jean Griffin, Grace Bates, and Betty Ruth Biggers.
