Joy Sunrich Heatherly, 86, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, formerly of Manchester, Georgia, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019.
Mrs. Heatherly was born in Rome, Georgia, on January 20, 1933, the daughter of Nick and Rosita Ortiz Sunrich. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Manchester, Georgia and graduated from Rome High School in Rome, Georgia. She was previously employed with International Playtex and Bank of Manchester and for several years was employed with the Meriwether County School System as a substitute teacher. Her hobbies included sewing and baking cakes and pies for her friends. Mrs. Heatherly was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Albert Heatherly, and a sister, Ann Stevens.
Survivors include her son, Mike Heatherly and his wife Betty Ann; two grandchildren, Brad (Kathryn) and Lorie; three great-grandchildren, Cole, Carmen, and Lilli, all of Fitzgerald; a brother, William Sunrich of Rome, Georgia; a sister, Nicki Collier of Cedartown, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at New Bethel Church Cemetery on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at 4 PM with the Rev. Adam Young officiating. Visitation will be at Paulk Funeral Home on Tuesday from Noon until 1 PM.
