Francis G. MacDonald

...formerly with H.P. Hood and Baybank; age 85

TEWKSBURY - Francis G. MacDonald, 85, a resident of Tewksbury for five years, died FridayMorning, June 28, at the Life Care center of Merrimack Valley in North Billerica, after a lengthyillness. He was the husband of M. Cecilia (MacGilvray) MacDonald, with whom he would havecelebrated a 60th wedding anniversary on July 26th.

He was born in Dorchester, June 4, 1917, a son of the late Alexander and Eliza (MacIsaac)MacDonald. He was raised in Dorchester and was a longtime resident of Medford and Stonehambefore moving to Tewksbury in 1997.

During WWII, he served in the U.S. Army’s 9th Airforce, 405th Fighter Squadren.

He was employed by H.P. Hood, and later by Baybank.

He was a member of the Medford Elks Lodge and a member of the Medford V.F.W.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Francis G. and his wife Marilyn(Avola) MacDonald Jr. of Pelham, NH, Leo J. and his wife Paula (Antonuccio) MacDonald ofTewksbury, two daughters, Mary C. MacDonald and Jean M. MacDonald both of Tewksbury, sixgrandchildren and three great grandchildren.He was also brother of the late Anne Kelly and George MacDonald.

His Funeral Mass will becelebrated Monday, July 1, at 11:30 a.m. in St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St. (Rte 38)Tewksbury. Visiting hours Sunday 4 to 7 in the funeral home.
