Marlene F. (Kenyon) Cunningham, a 36 year resident of Medford and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 following a 6 week battle with lung cancer at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. She was 66 years of age.
Marlene was born in Boston on July 28, 1952, a daughter of the late Percy R. Kenyon and Priscilla M. (Bingham) Kenyon. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1970. Marlene had been working at CVS as a cashier in the Charlestown Mall for the last 15 years always ready to help out any of her fellow townies in time of need. Before her CVS employment, Marlene worked at Johnnies Foodmaster in the Charlestown Mall for over 20 years. Marlene enjoyed her animals especially her beloved dog Stella.
Marlene is the loving mother of Melissa Whitney and her husband Terrence. She is the beloved wife of 30 years to William F. "Bill" Cunningham. She is the devoted sister of Roger Chesebrough and his wife Gloria, Michael Kenyon and his wife Kelley and the late Marie Mitchell and her surviving husband Robert. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Marlene's Funeral Service on Monday, May 6, 2019 at 10 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Her visiting hours will be on Sunday, May 5, 2019 from 2 to 6 P.M. in the funeral home.
