Sarah Virginia Tawzer Noland, 92, of Tifton, died Thursday, January 5, 2006, at Tift Health Care. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2006 at the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funeral. Burial will follow in Eldorado Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Eddie Allen and the Rev. Steve Sutton will officiate. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening, January 6,2006 at Bowen-Donaldson. The family will gather at 644 Vanceville Road, which is the home of her daughter, Doris Stone.
Ms. Noland was born on January 6, 1913 in Acworth (Cherokee County), Georgia. (She would have been 93 years old on Friday, January 6, 2006). She was the daughter of David Eli Tawzer and Annie Lou Jones Tawzer, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Tawzer and Henry Tawzer and two grandchildren. She was a member of Eldorado Baptist Church, a farmer and a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: H.L. (Buddy) and Frances Noland of Tifton and Wallace Wayne and Jerrie Noland of Tifton; a daughter and son-in-law, Doris Virginia and Cleo Stone of Tifton; 10 grandchildren and their spouses, Larry and Francine Stone, Tommy and Kathy Stone and Bobby and Ginger Stone, all of Tifton; Kenney and Carol Stone of Florence, S.C., Connie and Lindsey Hill, Cathy and Mark Williamson, all of Tifton; Cindy and Terry Cranford of Omega, Michael and Vondia Noland of Valdosta, Mark and Tammy Noland of Oxford, and Tammie and Charles Hanson of St. George, Utah; 29 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews that she greatly loved.
