Grace C. Regan, 92, of New Bedford died Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at home after a brief illness.
Born in Worcester, daughter of the late John T. and Catherine (Mara) Regan, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She served in the United States Air Force as a nurse for 26 years, retiring with the rank of Colonel. Later she was employed in various nursing roles.
Grace was an appointed member of the New Bedford Veterans Advisory Board.
She loved to cook and enjoyed writing poetry.
Survivors include her sister, Eleanor Berry; her brother, John Regan and his wife Brenda; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Mary Regan and Barbara Neary; and the sister-in-law of the late Clif Berry and William Neary.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 6, 2019 at 11 AM at the Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 121 Mt. Pleasant St., New Bedford, with visitation at Church 10-11 AM, prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
