Aguinaldo L. Ferreira, 86, of Pawtucket, RI died Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Philip Hulitar Hospice after a brief illness.
Born in São Nicolau, Cape Verde, son of the late Joao and Ana (Lopes) Ferreira, he moved to New Bedford, MA in 1966 and lived there for most of his life.
He was a proud member of the Laborers' Local Union 385.
Aguinaldo enjoyed watching soccer and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Aguinaldo A. Ferreira; three sisters, Maria de La Salete Ferreira, Alda Dos Santos, and Edla De Brito; his former wife, Cidalia Ferreira; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Marcelino Santos, Jenny Medina, Augusto Santos, and Antonio Ferreira.
His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 9 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 4-8 PM. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
