Eugene J. Benbenek, Sr., 102, of Westport, passed away Monday, April 29, 2019 at Sacred Heart Nursing Home, New Bedford. He was the husband of the late Aniela L. (Bielski) Benbenek.
Born in New Bedford, he was son of the late Antoni and Stefania (Smiegel) Benbenek. He was a Communicant of St. George Church, Westport. Mr. Benbenek was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include 5 sons: Eugene J. Benbenek, Jr. of Dartmouth, Thomas E. Benbenek of Templeton, MA; Alfred S. Benbenek of Westport, Paul L. Benbenek of Halifax, MA and Philip J. Benbenek of Marshfield, MA; a brother: Waldyn Benbenek of Conroy, TX; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was brother of the late Adela Faria, Mitchell Benbenek, Doris Bombardier, Antoni Benbenek, Jr. and Aldea Jodion.
Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, May 3, 2019 at St. George Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Visitation will be Friday from 8:30 - 9:30 A.M. at the Potter Funeral Home prior to the Mass.
Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
