Albert W. "Al" Gianci, lifelong resident of Medford, passed away on Monday, April 29th. He was 69. Born in Everett and raised in Medford, he was the son of the late Albert and Susan (Butera) Gianci.
Al enlisted in the United States Air Force in the spring of 1969, from Boston, serving during the Vietnam War. After his enlistment Al came home to Medford, and became a dedicated employee of Raytheon for many years up to his retirement.
A natural people person, Al loved everyone, and they loved him. No matter how long, where or when you met Al you were instantly connected. He was everyone's best friend his smile was contagious and was known to brighten up a room. An avid football fan and a diehard Patriot's fanatic, he enjoyed watching as many games as possible. He enjoyed listening and dancing to all types of music especially mo-town, frequent trips to New York City with his pal Warren was always an adventure.
Albert was the dear brother of Paul Gianci and his wife Doreen of Holbrook, Denise Gianci of Medford, and Charles Gianci and his wife Susanne of Medfield. He was the loving uncle of Danielle Pecorelli and her husband Tony, Rachel, Christel, Paul, Jacob, Sarah, Michaela, TJ, and Allie. He is also survived by many loving cousins, family members and friends.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Friday, May 3rd at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 - 8 pm. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
