Gladys McKie Hardin, 90, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Palemon Gaskins Memorial Nursing Home in Ocilla, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at Arbor Baptist Church in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Wednesday morning from 9:30 AM until the service hour at the church.
Mrs. Hardin was born September 1, 1928, in Wilcox County, Georgia, to the late Van Buren & Lillie Mae Bolden McKie. She lived in the community all of her life. She was a wonderful homemaker who loved to cook and spend time with her family. She loved them dearly. She was a Pink Lady for the Dorminy Medical Center Auxiliary for many years. Mrs. Hardin was a member of Arbor Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and served in the nursery.
She is survived by her children: Jerry & Angela Hardin of Fitzgerald, David & Charla Hardin of Fitzgerald and Cathy & Wayne Penn of Anniston, Alabama; seven grandchildren: Brittney Hardin, Jeremy & Diane Hardin, Garrett Hardin, Wayne Penn, Jr. & Mindy, Matthew Penn, Mark & Marie Penn and Wendy & Caleb Griffin; and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Hardin; two brothers: Marvin McKie and Dillard McKie and two sisters: Elizabeth Walker Stone and Mozelle Sutton.
