Barbara Ann Scherer, 77, of Truro passed away quietly at home on Friday, April 26th surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Normand ‘Tippy’ Scherer.
Born and educated in Englewood, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Leonora [Schmidt] Lee.
Barbara enjoyed working around her home. She loved caring for her family, was an excellent cook, excelled at gardening and being kind to the many small animals around her yard. She was a long-time, active member of the Christian Union Church in Truro.
In addition to her husband ‘Tippy’, she leaves a daughter Melissa Scherer of Brewster, sons Erick Scherer and wife Adriana of Yarmouth, Tom Scherer and his partner Liz Cabral of Truro, grandchildren William and Sam Scherer, Mackenzie and Eligh Foley as well as a brother, Peter Lee and his wife Eileen of North Reading. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Barbara’s family invite you to join with them for calling hours at the Christian Union Church, 27 Shore Rd, Truro on Wednesday, May 1st from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. The Funeral will be at 1100 am, Thursday, May 2nd at the Church. Burial will follow in Old North Cemetery, Truro.
