Lee, Warren E. 86, of Dedham, passed away peacefully April 17, 2019, with his loving daughter Wendi by his side.
Warren was born in Lexington MA in the home he grew up in. He was the sonof Blanche and Arthur Lee and the youngest of three children. He was raised to have strong family values, be a man of his word and live by a code of honor. Qualities that would later define the man he would ultimately become.
Warren went to Lexington High School where he excelled in both academics and athletics. He was the captain of his golf team and was strongly encouraged to go pro after graduation but war broke out in Korea.
He served in the United States Army with distinction and earned a bronze star for valor. His time in the Army further instilled his selfless values and sharpened his identity as a veteran which he proudly embraced until the day he passed.
Home from ware he married Ruth Iodice and had two wonderful daughters which he acknowledged as his greatest accomplishment to date. He worked as a salesman for Raytheon by day and studied business and mathematics at night.
An opportunity soon presented itself in California with Teledyne, CE Cast where he became a specialist in foundry and casting of titanium. He quickly found himself responsible for overseeing two of the companies foundry plants. With an intricate understanding of titanium he designed and developed more proficient casting and foundry techniques.
It was a development that led to multiple patents and catapulted him into the next phase of his career. Out of sales but still selling he traveled the world presenting his patented design including an industry seminar the historic Carnegie hall in Manhattan, New York.
After forty years of a successful career he retired to Florida. In pursuit of his favorite past time he would spend the majority of the next 20 years enjoying his time on the links. It was here where he met his partner of more than 20 years who preceded him in passing Phillis Bushway.
In later years he relocated back to Massachusetts to be closer to family. He was a frequent visitor of his best friend and granddaughter Kristen. Where he would enjoy small talk while surfing the web on his iPad. Religiously checking his online banking.
With strong convictions of morality and hard work ethic he pulled himself up by the boot straps and created the life he desired. He was selfless and devoted family man. Served his country bravely when called upon. Always enjoyed himself when he could. Constantly strived to become the best version of himself.
In lieu of flowers or donations Warren would appreciate those that knew him and strangers alike to make a kind gesture to a fellow veteran.
